Board membership is a heavy lift. We ask you to come to lots of meetings, some of them difficult to attend, others not as exciting or strategic as you might have hoped. We ask you to spend time on your own reading up about the institution. We ask you to take fiduciary responsibility for the organization. And, because that all is such an honor, we ask you to contribute a significant gift (often numerous gifts throughout the year) and fundraise! Such a bargain!

But you and I know that you do get much in return. A sense of doing something good. A chance to be part of a team. Opportunities to learn, grow, and network.

Yet nothing will compare to knowing you’re helping a cause whose mission really excites you.
